Thursday
Today is my fifth day in my new home. I feel more like eating so that's good. Mckell chiaki and Karen came up today and painted my fingernails, so I feel pretty special haha. I am still on chemo, and they also pump one liter of fluid into me every hour, so i am getting my exercise walking the five feet to the bathroom and back. I wish I had more adventurous stories to tell that don't have to do with what i am eating or how much I pee. But to be quite honest there isn't much to do up here. All The more reason for you to come visit, right? :) tomorrow i get another spinal tap, i don't have a ton of details, i just kinda roll with it. Thanks to all of you who have given me fun things to keep in my room, all of the nurses have commented on how much they like it. I really couldn't do this without all you guys, I honestly feel so blessed to have the friends and family that i have. Even though this wasn't on my list of things to do this summer, I know it is going to make me stronger and bring me closer to all of you. Thank you for all of your support. I love you all!

ReplyDeleteHi Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI came over from Kristen's blog. She posted about your diagnosis. I have smiled looking at your blog. I don't think anything could bring you down. You are always full of smiles.
We will be praying for quick remission and a long recovery. We love you all.

We just looked at the blog and Maddie said, "I am missing her. I want to have a tea party with her. And I want her to come swimming if that will make her feel better." Missing you!!
ReplyDeleteRach! Keep fighting you are doing awesome. I can't wait to see how your room looks since I was last there. Love you!

ReplyDeleteI totally want to come and visit you but I have either a head cold or allergies and I don't want to risk getting you sick. I know how much it sucks when you're already sick from chemo and then get a cold on top of it. When I'm 100% I'll come see ya.

Hey Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI have just recently found out about what is going on in your life. I am so sorry to hear about what you are going through. I am praying for you every day and will continue to do so. I will be fasting for you each Sunday. I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know what an amazing example you have been to me since I met you. First off, thank you so much for all the help and advice you have given me in years past. You have no idea what that has meant to me. I also wanted to tell you how much you have taught me even without words. Through your actions and example, I have learned from you that with enough determination and belief in yourself, you can do anything no matter what it is. This lesson has helped me so much in life and is something I will always carry with me. I am grateful for your friendship and influence in my life. Again know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I love you!

Lol! Yea, trips to the bathroom due to all the fun fluids coming through that IV... those are great memories! Aren't you glad you have that to keep your muscle tone up during these weeks? Who would have known that getting out of bed could take so much energy? I know I've gained a great appreciation for the "older" folk these last few years... Keep smile'n, girl! You're doing great. Baby steps each day. Congrats on your new spinal count! Wow, what an improvement! Thinking of you every day, and praying for your strength and health. Love ya much.
