Today we met with Drs Barnett and Verma this morning during their rounds. They came in with a smile on their face. They told us there was match for a bone marrow transplant! My brother Adam is a 10 out of 10 match!!! My dad thought if there were a match that Adam would be the one to match since he says that Adam and I are so much the Same personality wise. I don't think so but I am still so glad that he is willing to provide bone marrow in a transplant procedure.
On the down side our phone signal was down all of today so if. You were trying to get me or my mom or dad they weren't not answering because they didn't want to talk it was because for some reason the signal from ATT was not working well in the hospital area. Hopefully after many calls they will get the thing working by tomorrow!
I guess I can count today as a good day! I hope you all had a great day!
-Rachel

ReplyDeleteRachel,
ReplyDeleteI've been stalking your blog. I'm glad that your news today is good news. You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. You inspire me with how strong you are through this challenge.
Love Ya!
Margaret (Sis. Florence)
Whew! What a blessing! I donated blood last night with the RED CROSS. That's the 1st time in YEARS!! You are inspiring others. Now I want to donate at least 3 times a year! You are amazing...and you are loved! (Hannah almost gave blood, but chickened out, she'll get there!) I imagine you're a pro at that stuff by now, Colette wants to be the person who draws the blood and she is going to go to school for that soon. (She donated blood last night, too.) We were at Thanksgiving Point and they had a Blood Drive at the Dinosaur museum until 11pm-to catch all the Eclipse fans, with stickers that said, "I donated blood for Edward!"...Bella or Jacob...). I think it was a great idea and a success.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, we're all pulling for you!
Love,
Patti (and Hannah)
When Richie came home, he told me that you had a perfect match with your brother. I am so thankful that he is willing to help you this way! You have an amazing family, and you are an amazing young woman! Love you and miss you!
ReplyDeleteOh, Rachel! That is perfectly awesome news. Barbados and I have been praying for you that all will be well. Your example through this all has been amazing and very inspiring. You're truly steele strong. Keep smiling, m'lady. There are great things ahead for you. Of course, I cannot forget Adam in all this. What a gift of love. Makes all those sibling rivalries so bitter sweet and worth their salt in a most uncanny way. God's blessing to you! Luv ya lots, Rach. Cherzzz
ReplyDeleteWow! Between my two other girls we never had a match. We even gathered the cord blood from our new baby that was born only three weeks after Taylie's diagnosis, thinking for sure she would match Bone Marrow. So that's great for you with your brother! Then will you do the three chemo rounds first before the transplant? We ended up going through 5 chemo rounds without the transplant. Being that you are AML also I would like to know more about what they will do! I hope you are doing okay! We have something for your family when we come to the hospital for clinic on July 13th. Maybe if you are there we will come to say hi. I think you need to see my little Taylie. You two can talk and you can ask her questions and such. What can we bring you? What do you like to do? Was a little different for me keeping a 4 year old busy in the hospital. Stay strong, we liked the video :) Tell Irish hello from Taylie and any of the nurses you see! They are amazing people. Proud of you girl, keep fighing!
ReplyDeleteSO I just watched the video that Adam made of you and I agree with your dad that you and Adam have a similar personality! I can see it in your writing too so yep, perfect match! That's so great!! Yayayayayayayyayayay!! Good thing he's a clean mormon boy er man now hehe!! yay!
