It's hard to believe that December is here and Christmas is just around the corner! Many times I find myself thinking it should be the end of June...since life as we knew it came to a screeching halt then. But one look at the large mounds of snow out our hospital window lets me know that time has pressed on.

Rachel and her cute little AML Friend, Erin
Rachel is doing much better. The nausea has subsided and she's eating and drinking. They are starting to switch some of her IV meds to oral pills. Once she finishes that transition, we are hoping to get discharged! She is very excited to be home for Christmas. As the familiar Christmas song says, "There's no place like home for the holidays!"

  1. We are so grateful for this good news...You are always in our thoughts and prayers...Rachel you have such strength...Your California Friends..The Sniderbunch

  2. I was hoping for good news when I checked the blog tonight. So glad the nausea has died down. We're hoping Rachel gets to come home for Christmas - we're pulling for no more holidays in the hospital! Love you all!

  3. I'm happy for you and hope that things continue to go in the right direction. Chow down and hopefully the pill will stay down. Love you soooo
much. Hope you be able to go home soon and see Kodi's new baby. Love ya

  4. I am so happy to hear that Rachel is starting to feel better. I know it's still a long road ahead of you all, but you are on the right track. It will be so nice to be on all oral pills. So much easier!

This is going to be a Christmas of Miracles! Love you all.

  5. I love to hear good news...Thanks

    Love you guys!!

  6. Best news of our day. Hooray for being home for the Holidays. Millie was diagnosed 1 week before xmas last year, we were told she would be in the hospital for Christmas so when she was released to come home just days before Christmas it was our entire families greatest gift amongst all the craziness that cancer brings to everyones lifes.

  7. YEA!!! Way to slurp up those liquids! Your little friend, Erin, is so adorable! Hats are so very fashionable. I had to use a period because I'm going waaaay overboard on all these exclamation points, but it's because I'm doing a happy dance for ya, girl!
I was showing my class the website for the DragonComet writing contest the other day; love to see your name on there as a winner! Shall I be looking for another entry from you this year? Maybe next year...? ;-)
Sending you love and happiness. You're in the home stretch; keep your eyes on the ball!
