Make a Wish

My wish for the make a wish foundation has been granted! My wish was to go to Italy and I just heard today that the board approved, and I am very excited. I have been looking forward to this for a long time, and hopefully if all goes well we can go this august. Things are going good, I am trying to exercise as much as I can and hopefully I am gaining weight haha gotta love those high calorie drinks. Sorry I don't post very faithfully I will try to do better.

  2. YAY! I'm so jealous, but so happy for you, too - Italy will be fantastic. You'll have to take lots of pictures and eat lots of pasta (that'll help you bulk up a little!). Congrats, Rachel - you deserve it!

  5. Rachel, Sister Scott and I have been serving our local mission with the Addiction Recovery program for the past 12 months (we just re-upped for another 24). Many people in the program ask about the orange wrist band that I wear and I tell them about you. They all say they will pray for you. These are addicts that are also on a long road to recovery and I think they can identify with struggling to see any little sign of progress.

I had been wearing the band on my left wrist, but three weeks ago one young man told us he had decided to turn himself in for some outstanding arrest warrants that he had be running from. He said he knew that it meant going to jail but he was tired of being afraid of "what might happen" and was ready to face whatever needed to happen. I showed him your orange band and told him about you, how you have been willing to face whatever came your way. I took off the band and put it on my right wrist and said I would be wearing it there to remember him also. He has been in jail for three weeks now and expects to be there for about 6 months but I think (like your) knowing that others care and are praying for him makes a difference. Thank you for your example. It makes a difference.
